How Rewards Credit Cards (Personal & Business) Are Worth Every Penny

For young people, the thought of getting a credit card, can be daunting especially if they read and understand the financing, APR% (annual percentage rate), and cashback penalties. BUT as long as you follow some basic rules, you can easily rack up miles for hotels, airlines, retail shopping and many more.  Below I will share a few different types for examples.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Card

This card is a pretty rounded one when it comes to benefits, APR%, and obviously travel. Some of the benefits are listed below.

Earn 2 Points per $1

By spending on Southwest purchases made directly with the airline.  Typically, when I fly for business or travel I use one of my airline cards as they give back twice the amount of Miles I would’ve received anyway.  Why not take advantage of that?

Earn 1 Point per $1

By spending on literally everything else.  Every now and then you’ll receive a notice when they give you windows of time of double points.

APR % Yearly Membership

One of the cool features about this card is that the APR% is fairly low compared to others at 17.49% – 24.49% dependent upon your credit score.

Southwest has been a  pretty good partner with Alpine Point Media for a while and we definitely give them 5 stars.

DISCOVER it Rewards Card

The DISCOVER it Card is perfect for those who do more of their spending on items like grocery shopping, automotive issues, retail shopping, and other necessities.  A few rewards are listed below.

Cashback Match (1st Year)

They’ll automatically match all the cash back you’ve earned at the end of your first year. There’s no signing up. And no limit to how much they will match during that time period.  They also send you a notification when a new type of reward pops up and it only takes ONE button to confirm, it is so easy.

Earn 5% Cash Back (Continuous)

This is different than the 1st year match, as this is a continuous type of earning potential. Earn 5% cash back on everyday purchases at different places each quarter like grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, select rideshares and online shopping, up to the quarterly maximum when you activate. Plus, earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases – automatically.

Low Intro APR%

Get a 0% intro APR for 14 months on purchases. Then 13.49% to 24.49% Standard Variable Purchase APR applies.

This is an even lower starting APR% and can literally rack up money to either take out as cash, or apply to any debt you may have incurred while spending.  Definitely a good one for a family type scenario!
