Three Exemplary Ways to Drive Traffic to your Business:

According to SEO Tribunal, Google processes more than 2 trillion searches every year. This equates to about 5.8 billion searches every day, and 62-72 thousand searches per second.

To wrap your head around that, imagine a sold-out football stadium of people clicking “Search” every second of every day (86,400 times a day to be exact). From news, to E-commerce, to finding the nearest food delivery, these searches create opportunities for engagement with your business. But throughout all of these thousands of searches, how do we create meaningful traffic to your business? These numbers might seem daunting, especially when there isn’t always a boilerplate procedure to increase your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or consumer traffic, however there are simple methods and steps every business should take in order to jumpstart this traffic. If you haven’t taken any of these steps yet, you definitely need to hop on the train. All aboard the APM steam engine.

Websites

Having a website is the rudimentary first step. In 2020, we expect any business we interact with to have a website, and it is easier than ever for a business owner to build a website. If you don’t already have a website, there are certainly free options, such as Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress, to experiment with and test out design concepts. However, there are many limitations with free website builders. Free websites builders/providers require specific domain names (ex: mycoolwebsite.wordpress.com) which give your website an inorganic appearance, and also rarely appear on page 1 of Google Search results. They also typically require a monthly payment option instead of a one-time fee to own. It’s terrible to not own your own website. The true price of free websites also come from distracting ads placed on your website by the provider. These ads are outside of your control and can actually divert traffic away from your website. We recommend consulting with our team of web design professionals to build an original website from the ground up. SMM (Social Media Marketing) Utilization

Another simple but effective way to create more traffic to your business is by utilizing all relevant social media platforms available. According to Hootsuite, one of the top tools for social media managers, people spend more time on social media these days than they do watching TV! This is especially true if your target market is a younger audience below age 40. Social media sites allow your business to engage with consumers or potential new clients and provide seamless ways to transition them to your website or simply promote products and services. A study by Curalate, a social media marketing agency, found that 76% of consumers have purchased a product they’ve seen in a brand’s social media post. 20% of these consumers even purchased that same product in-store, meaning social media really can drive traffic to brick & mortar stores. Quality content and a regular posting schedule are the most effective way to create traffic and activity. This can be difficult to get the hang of but that’s what our experts are here for at APM.

Email Marketing

A third basic way to improve your traffic is to organize an email marketing campaign. This can range from anything from company newsletters to advertisements/sales promotions, or to promoting other content relevant to your audience. Email marketing (EM) also allows you to keep up with the industry/customer conversation in order to stay relevant. Don’t forget that embedding links to your website and plugging social accounts in every email is vital to increase traffic with EM. Gathering and funneling client email contacts can be tough however, and there are many strategies to obtain and utilize these contacts. Take a look at our CEO’s past blog about email marketing for some more details.

It’s important to remember that there isn’t one set formula that will work for all businesses. There are tons of other valuable ways you can improve traffic to your business or website, and at the end of the day the biggest thing that matters is your audience. Though this is true, don’t underscore the importance of making small, simple, rudimentary changes as building blocks to accomplish your goals for your business. Whether it’s increased traffic, revenue growth, or lead generation, small changes can make all the difference. And for everything else, there’s Alpine Point Media.
